The taste of Chicago was back. We didn't go last year so we decided to check it out this year. Give it a try, why not! So on the weekend of June 28th we made plans to go downtown. I had a camp meeting in the morning and Rob had to work so we had to wait until the afternoon to stuff our faces. The park was absolutely packed. Packed with people and packed with food booths. I was awesome. We purchased our tickets and headed out to find what kind of food we wanted to try. There were so many food booths how do you decided on just one? You don't! You can get a taste portion for about half the price. So we stopped at a lot of different booths, got the taste portions and tried a lot of different things. We had a lot of fun. Near the end we were getting tired of walking and tired of people so we used up our last tickets and headed out of the park.
Diana reminded us that the city has a firework show at Navy Pier every Saturday night so we walked down to the pier. We took our time wandering through the shops at the pier then we found a spot to plop our bottoms on and wait for the show. While we were waiting for the fireworks to start we started goofing off with the little kids who were sitting next to us. Diana taught him the "cut the pickle, tickle, tickle" and it was so cute. At first he didn't quite understand the concept but as we kept doing it he started to really get into it and his laugh was hilarious.
So we watched the fireworks then started walking back to our car. It was such a beautiful day and the fireworks made a nice ending.
